My grade 1s are working with the theme of endangered animals at the moment. Numbats are furry little Australian marsupials which are sadly an endangered species. The Numbat is an emblem of Western Australia and protected by conservation programs. As the majority of my students were born overseas most had never seen or heard of numbats. The children did these drawings of numbats in oil pastels after looking at photos.
Very cute!! Keep up the good work teaching kids about our threatened native animals!
