My Grade Ones recently made these clay turtles for World Turtle Day as part of their work on endangered animals. We discussed the reasons turtles are endangered and the features of turtles before creating simple shapes from clay and assembling our turtles. I wasn't really happy about the colour of the glazes, but they've grown on me.
