Chameleoflage.

Inspiration:
 Chameleon-Camouflage-Collage!

Students drew a chameleon on their page gripping a branch. They then cut out the shape of their chameleon and glued a page from a magazine to the back of their drawing creating a skin texture for the chameleon. They then had to try to camouflage their chameleon by drawing a background using the same colours featured in the magazine page. (Does that make sense?).
The first two photos show the most successful drawings, the others had a lot of trouble matching colours so there's not much camouflage going on there...
Still, they're pretty cute! Will try this again some day with an older group.

  5. Such a fun project! My first graders just finished learning about animal adaptations and this was a perfect way to wrap up the unit. Thanks for sharing.
