Inspiration: Dutch post-impressionist artist Vincent Van Gogh's (1853-1890) painting 'The Starry Night' (1889).
I've done these 'Starry Nights' before (See
HERE) before but I agreed to let these students add some glitter this time around. Sometimes the kids are right about glitter after all.
yep! the glitter adds a little something special! i havn't done van gogh in a couple years...maybe it's time to dust off some lesson plans! thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorites! I like the little extra pizzaz that the glitter adds :-)
ReplyDeleteThese are absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI have to say I love the glitter in this project :)

ReplyDeleteThese are really beautiful - I have done a few Starry Night projects (http://bluesparrowsart.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/van-gogh-in-city.html) but didn't think to add glitter - mental note for future projects!
ReplyDeleteLisa.
What did you use for the sky part of the reproductions? Would white construction paper with the blue dye wash work?
ReplyDelete- Not an art teacher, but teaching art (and all other subjects) in 4th grade
Yes - that would work fine. Good luck and enjoy!
