I love these paintings created by my grade 2 students celebrating Year of the Dragon.
They are so vibrant and really capture the excitement of Chinese New Year and the Dragon Dance. After viewing photographs of Chinese dragon costumes and discussing how to draw something complex using simple shapes, students drew their dragons in pencil and traced in permanent marker before using fluorescent tempera paints as well as black and gold paints and sequins to complete.
Great project!!
